WE ARE THE CAMP XX FAMILY

And that’s our story of finding a new home in Black Rock desert

ABOUT US

Check Burning Man Project Statement on Coronavirus (COVID-19) and don’t forget to prepare!

In a few words

Our camp reflects our culture. It’s full of music lovers, alternative models, creators, crazy designers, off-beat artists, talented performers and woozy cookers.

If you are a warrior of light, you know 10 principles, you are aware, you believe in peace and love, you want full immersion, you like to make stuff by your hands, you want to be a part of a large family and share your love with it, then our camp is a part of you!

We offer you to build a safe haven for a tired wayfarer, a small island of dreams permeated with the spirit of the east together. We want to share our overwhelming love, show you, my dear friend, the practices which will lead you to the harmony of mind and body, how to fill yourself with love, how to become a family with people you see for the first time for a whole week.

It’s a theme camp,
what is the theme?

We posture ourselves as modern hippies. What does it mean for us: modern hippies are people who cherish peace and harmony, nature and environment, who bring love for all beings but at the same time they are in tune with nowadays time and reality, savvy in music and art; and are keen on new pure knowledge and experience.

Our camp immersed in love and kindness and filled with subtle fragrances of Asia – the place so much adored by hippies even now – carries the heritage and culture of the east.

What useful can you give
to the Black Rock City?

We’d love you to try very interesting practice for your mind, body and soul – Sadhu Boards.

Board with nails has many names (Fire Board, Sadhu Board, Yoga Desk etc.) but same principle – equal even nails arranged in parallel rows at the same distance from each other. The distance between the nails can differ from 0.5 cm to 2.5 cm. Everyone who stands on these nails gets their own unique experience.

When a person stands on nails, he fully reveals oneself. Feelings become aggravated and laid bare. Knots and blocks get release both at the level of body and mind. The whole system of a person purifies, reboot and focus on the initial goal takes place.

We have 70000 nerve-endings on our feet. The entire nervous system including the brain comes to the hypertonus while standing on nails. If you stand on the board with a clearly stated goal, intention or request and keep focusing on it, the movement towards this goal is getting greatly accelerated after you step out from the nails.

The 10(+1) principles of Burning Man

Radical Inclusion

Anyone may be a part of Burning Man.
We welcome and respect the stranger.
No prerequisites exist for participation in our community.

Radical self-expression

Radical self-expression arises from the unique gifts of the individual. No one other than the individual or a collaborating group can determine its content. It is offered as a gift to others. In this spirit, the giver should respect the rights and liberties of the recipient.

Radical self-reliance

Burning man encourages the individual to discover, exercise and rely on his or her inner resources.

Leaving no trace

Our community respects the environment.
We are committed to leaving no physical trace of our activities wherever we gather. We clean up after ourselves and endeavor, whenever possible, to leave such places in a better state than when we found them.

Communal effort

Our community values creative cooperation and collaboration. We strive to produce, promote and protect social networks, public spaces, works of art, and methods of communication that support such interaction.

Participation

Our community is committed to a radically participatory ethic. We believe that transformative change, whether in the individual or in society, can occur only through the medium of deeply personal participation. We achieve being through doing. Everyone is invited to work. Everyone is invited to play. We make the world real through actions that open the heart.

Gifting

Burning man is devoted to acts of gift giving. The value of a gift is unconditional. Gifting does not contemplate a return or an exchange for something of equal value.

Decommodification

In order to preserve the spirit of gifting, our community seeks to create social environments that are unmediated by commercial sponsorships, transactions, or advertising. We stand ready to protect our culture from such exploitation. We resist the substitution of consumption for participatory experience.

Civic responsibility

We value civil society. Community members who organize events should assume responsibility for public welfare and endeavor to communicate civic responsibilities to participants. They must also assume responsibility for conducting events in accordance with local, state and federal laws.

Immediacy

Immediate experience is, in many ways, the most important touchstone of value in our culture. We seek to overcome barriers that stand between us and a recognition of our inner selves, the reality of those around us, participation in society, and contact with a natural world exceeding human powers. No idea can substitute for this experience.

Love

We are all part of this small planet floating in the endless space. Treat everyone with care, love, unity, and respect. Create new relationships, strengthen old ones and be kind to everyone. Give people your love, your arms and a piece of your energy. Serotonin is a hell of a drug – feel it, bringing some love next time!

Join us

If you want to join our amp, firstly you have to understand that we are a participation camp. And this means that EACH member of our camp should participate in creation of a warm and cheerful atmosphere. We request all members to communicate with each other, make new acquaintances and build relationships with old participants. Remember, if you want to leave your sleeping bag, tent, RV in our camp and disappear into the dust, forgetting about the camp and about the duties in the camp or you wanna bring some drama to our camp… Please find another place for yourself.
